The impressive Arenal Volcano is a natural wonder located in La Fortuna de San Carlos, Alajuela, offering thousands of tourists the opportunity to appreciate the columns of white smoke, ash and fumarolic activity emanating from the cone-shaped colossus. It is important to take into account that the volcano had been dormant for at least 450 years, until July 29, 1968, when it erupted again, starting a new period of pyroclastic activity, such activity has decreased considerably during the last few years.

En route to Arenal Volcano, we will make a stop in the famous town of Sarchi, known as “the cradle of Costa Rica’s artisans”, where you will have the best opportunity to purchase wooden souvenirs, clothing and souvenirs in general.

In Sarchi, it is very possible that you will see an ox cart that holds the title of being the largest in the world, which is constructed of wood (cedar) and decorated with amazing colors, such as a bright orange color. The design is typical and complex, has two levels of height and took 70 days to be completed, it also has an honorable mention in the Guinness World Record Book of Records.

The trip is made, crossing forest areas, as well as plantations of various agricultural products, including coffee, pineapple, as well as ornamental plants, cattle farms, and in turn experiencing the variety of microclimates present in the country, until reaching the beautiful town of La Fortuna, to stop and enjoy lunch in a cozy restaurant with a spectacular view of the Arenal Volcano.

After lunch, there will be a visit to a nearby viewpoint at the foot of the volcano, to appreciate more closely the beauty of the volcano, and also the view of the Arenal Lagoon.

Cancellation must be made 48 hours prior to the service, otherwise a 100% penalty will be applied. A 90% refund will be applied if you cancel 48 hours or more (10% is applied to cover bank refund fees).
